• Launch of the Open Design Competition January 2009
• Public Exhibition of all the submissions at the Town Hall April 2009
• Winning Team selected: Letts Wheeler Architects May 2009
• Design development and stakeholder consultations May-December 2009
• Public Consultation, held at The Mall in Maidstone January 2010
• Planning Permission granted July 2010
• Exhibition at the Kent County Show July 2010
• Contracts signed on June 9, 2011
• Work to start on site September 5, 2011. Work will take 32 weeks with a two week break over the Christmas period
